The step file can be viewed via open source CAD viewers (see e.g. TIGL viewer developed by DLR http://code.google.com/p/tigl/ or http://stpviewer.com/).
The step file can also be used for detailed analysis, editing or design with 3D CAD design software such as Catia or as starting point for high-fidelity post-processing computations.
